Crispy Honey Chili Brussel Sprouts
When I was growing up brussel sprouts were always the veggie that was thought to be the most “gross.” But now… I feel like they are the trendiest vegetable, along with Cauliflower. Probably because restaurants figured out how to make them so delicious— deep frying them, and covering them with sweet and sticky sauce. Don’t get me wrong, I love getting Brussel Sprouts as an appetizer, at dinner, I just wanted to create a lighter version you can make at home. This way they are still delicious, and you still get your veggies in :)
Enjoy!
Crispy Chili Brussel Sprouts
Ingredients
- 1 lb of Brussel Sprouts (halved)
- 1/2 tsp salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 T avocado Oil
- 2 clove of garlic
- 1 T Honey
- Juice of 1/2 lime
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes
- 2 T Hot Sauce (I used Noble Made)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 F. While preheating, season brussel sprouts with Avo Oil, Salt, Pepper, Onion Powder. Toss and mix thoroughly so the brussel sprouts are thoroughly coated.
- Roast in the oven for about 8-10 minute. While cooking, make the sauce and set aside. Take out and flip when they are golden and crisp. Then put back in the oven for another 5 minutes until browned.
- Take the brussels out, and toss with the sauce. Put back in the oven for 3-5 minutes, be sure to watch them closely so that the sauce doesn't burn (the honey can burn).
- Remove from the oven. Let cool and enjoy! I like to serve as an appetizer, or a side with dinner!
Notes
You could also cook the brussel sprouts in an air fryer if you have one. Cooking at 400F for 12-15 minutes (mixing every few minutes)
If roasting in the oven, you can preheat the cookie sheet, before cooking the brussel sprouts to help crisp and brown them further.
