Honey Chili Garlic Salmon

You ever have those nights when you are just craving asian cuisine takeout?? Well, I had one of those nights, tonight… As much as possible I try avoid actually ordering takeout because typically many of the sauces are made with a lot of added sugars, MSG, soy, gluten, and inflammatory oils (like peanut or canola oil). As much as they make it so delicious, it feels so good to make it at home, and control what you put it in— and still make a bomb a** dinner!

Oh and it’s super easy, taking less than 20 minutes to make. So if you are thinking about uber eats, because you want a quick meal— this homemade dinner probably takes less time than the delivery! (Plus no added charges tacked on :) )

This salmon has an asian sesame honey flare, that's sticky and sweet with a little kick! It tastes like takeout, but with great ingredients!

Ingredients

Salmon Seasoning:
  • 4 filets of salmon (about 1 lb)
  • 1 tsp flaky sea salt
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 T avocado Oil
Honey Chili Garlic Sauce
  • 2 T Honey
  • Juice from 1 lime
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3 T Coconut Aminos
  • 1 T sesame Oil
  • 1 T Hot Sauce (I used Noble Made)

Instructions

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to high broil and preheat a cast iron skillet with Avocado Oil on medium heat.
  2. While the pan and oven are preheating, season your salmon filets with avocado oil, salt, pepper and paprika. Set aside.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix together the sauce ingredients till well combined.
  4. Once the oil in the pan is preheated, add your salmon (skin side up) and cook for about 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, add your sauce to the pan. Pouring it over the filets. Let simmer for a minute.
  5. Spoon the sauce over the filets and transfer your cast iron skillet to the oven, to broil for about 5 minutes. Once the sauce has thickened, and the skin of the salmon has crisped (sometimes it will bubble and crisp up) take your salmon out of the oven. Spoon more sauce over the salmon filets and serve! This goes great with coconut rice, and steamed veggies, or you could make a salmon bowl, with veggies of your choosing!
